Infrastructure & Facilities
The main centre is located at village Baragain which is behind the Doctor’s Colony of Ranchi Medical College. SRI has converted 12.2 acres of rocky land into a woodland and has adopted organic planning for the layout.
The centre is divided into four distinct zones:
- Training Centre along with hostels, reading room, playground etc. for 150 trainees;
- Research and Development Centre for Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Energy Devices and System, Food Processing & Biotechnology;
- Women’s Resource Centre having hostel and games facility for 50 women.
- Agro technology section with rain water harvester for irrigation and aquaculture, green house, compost shed.
The Rural Technology Park (RTP) is located at two sites close to each other. One at Chamghati (30 km from SRI campus) provides Technology support, the other at Rupru facilitates Social organization.
